A Homemade Christmas

LYDIA'S ORNAMENTS

My daughter Lydia has been going to day care for the last 14 months. My husband, Walter and I have received numerous arts and craft projects that Lydia has created during that time. As I was rocking Lydia to sleep one evening, I noticed the pile of projects that we placed on her bookshelf. I wondered what I could do with all of the creations. I decided to use them as Christmas ornaments and decorations throughout our home. I strategically placed Lydia's projects lower on the Christmas tree so she would be able to recognize her work.

 JOY'S CHRISTMAS STOCKING

I have been working on and off on this needlepoint Christmas stocking for the last two years.  I finally finished it on December 12th and hung it from our mantle.  I like how it turned out.

WALTER'S FIREPLACE

Once I told my husband about the title of this blog he wanted to have something included as well.  The wood in our fireplace comes from the trees from our yard.  When branches fall, Walter chops them to use for our fires.

 HOMEMADE COOKIES

We made these cookies on Christmas Day.  Putting the icing on has become an opportunity to display our creativity.  I would definitely call this abstract art.
