Quick Knits

I can't seem to go too long before I'm overtaken by the desire to knit.  I have tried to work on other projects such as needlepointing or quilting, but knitting keeps pulling me back.  This longing doesn't necessarily involve major projects like knitting sweaters or jackets.  It's usually quick knitting projects, like hats, cowls, socks, scarfs, or toddler projects that can be finished in a relatively short period of time. These projects provide instant gratification and minimal finishing techniques.

This Ribbed Baby Jacket by Debbie Bliss is a perfect example.  It took about two week to finish and turned out beautifully.  I used two skeins of Lion Brand Cotton-Ease yarn in the color azalia.

Another quick, easy project is this toddler helmet hat by Sandrine Turner that Lydia loves to wear.  I used less than one skein of Sublime Yarns Organic Merino Wool to make the hat.

This hat and cowl took about two days to make.  I wear them all the time.

Finally, this sleeveless pullover Lydia is wearing took about 2 weeks to make.
